Marlene is a passionate childbirth educator with a profound understanding of the labour and delivery process. With experience as a birth doula, Spinning Babies Parent Educator, and somatic therapist, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her work.
In her role as a birth doula, Marlene has supported numerous families through the journey of childbirth, offering guidance, comfort, and reassurance every step of the way. She possesses a keen understanding of the intricacies of childbirth and is dedicated to empowering parents-to-be with the information they need to make informed decisions.
As a Spinning Babies Parent Educator, Marlene has delved into the physiology of the birthing body, exploring how positioning and movement can impact the ease and efficiency of labour. Her expertise in this area provides her with valuable insights into optimising the birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Marlene is also a Somatic Therapist for Pregnancy and Early Parenthood.
For the past few years, she has co-hosted Centering Pregnancy sessions, together with the midwives at Amstermam. She also taught “2 Handen op 1 Buik”, childbirth education classes to single moms demonstrating her commitment to ensuring that all expectant mothers, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the knowledge and resources they need to navigate childbirth with confidence and empowerment.
Marlene is not only a knowledgeable professional but also a compassionate and supportive individual. Originally from Germany, she has worked and studied in Spain and the UK. Since 2002, she has been living in Amsterdam with her husband and two kids (2013 and 2016).
