In 2022 we only present the one-weekend course over two sessions, face-2 face.
Saturday afternoon and a Sunday morning. You can digest the first part of the class in the evening, and come back the next day to recap day one, learn more about birthing positions and interventions, and discuss your birth plan with other couples.
We are currently presenting these classes face-to-face. The class size is a maximum of seven couples; and we maintain the 1½ meters distance guideline.
This course is in English for expectant mothers (around 30-35 weeks pregnant) and their partners, who want to prepare for the birth of their baby in one weekend.
To optimise the ventilation in the classroom we have invested in a CleanAir Optima ventilation system with UV light to kill the bacteria and viruses.
This weekend course is an informative if intensive workshop and bridges the gap between the five-evening sessions and the Childbirth Preparation Class 3.0 crash course. I’ll explain how the Dutch system works. We will practise the various breathing exercises in the different stages of your birth and cover a number of back massage and relaxing techniques. I’ll also explain the different possibilities about pain relief.
We also take time to try out different birthing positions that can be useful during labour. Towards the end of the course you have the opportunity to share ideas with other couples and we do a rehearsal. We finish with an empowering birthing film. You go home with hard copy handouts with homework, summaries and a timeline for dads during labour.
If we have to go back online: it will be live online.
Videos are made of all the massage exercises and things we normally demonstrate. You are actually practise. This class is not only theory. The content will be the same as in a face-to-face class. You can easily ask all your questions and you will be in breakout rooms to chat to other participating expectant couples. Handouts and homework will be sent after each session.
